New buyers can no longer pick Basic, Premium or Premium+. Since October 12, 2026, X Premium pricing sells The X Subscription instead. It has five tiers: Free ($0), Plus ($8 a month), Premium ($30), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200). For X features alone, Plus or Premium is enough. Super and Ultra only add AI usage.
What is X Premium now?
X Premium is now part of The X Subscription. This plan bundles Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X benefits in one price. X announced it on October 12, 2026.
People who already pay for X Premium, SuperGrok or Cursor keep their current plan and price. Switching is optional.
The names cause confusion, because two plans are called “Premium” now. The old Premium cost $8 and gave you a checkmark.
The new Premium costs $30 and includes SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and the full X Premium+ benefits. The old $8 Premium maps to the new Plus plan.
Twitter X Premium: How much does The X Subscription cost?
The X Subscription costs $8 a month for Plus, $30 for Premium, $100 for Super and $200 for Ultra. Yearly billing is cheaper on every paid tier.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included usage | X benefits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Limited | Standard X |
| Plus | $8 | $80 ($7/mo) | Base | Checkmark, creator tools, fewer ads |
| Premium | $30 | $300 ($25/mo) | 4x Plus | Full X Premium+ benefits |
| Super | $100 | $1,000 ($84/mo) | 15x Plus | Full X Premium+ benefits |
| Ultra | $200 | $2,000 ($167/mo) | 50x Plus | Full X Premium+ benefits |
Three details matter before you buy:
- Prices do not include sales tax. X adds tax at checkout where the law requires it.
- Grok Bot comes with Premium, Super and Ultra. Plus does not include it.
- Teams can buy Premium ($30), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200) per seat. Plus is not available for teams.
What did the old X Premium tiers cost?
The old tiers cost $3 for Basic, $8 for Premium and $40 for Premium+ on the web. X no longer sells them to new buyers, but current subscribers keep them.
| Old plan | Monthly | Annual | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $3 | $32 | Post editing, longer posts, no checkmark |
| Premium | $8 | $84 | Checkmark after review, about half the ads in For You and Following |
| Premium+ | $40 | $395 | Ad-free across most of X, X Pro, largest reply priority |
X also listed reply priority by tier: included on Basic, greater on Premium and greatest on Premium+.
Which Twitter X new plan replaces which old X plan?
Premium+ moves to the new Premium plan and gets $10 cheaper. Basic has no match, so it moves up to Plus at $8.
| Old plan | Old price | New plan | New price | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $3 | Plus | $8 | +$5 a month |
| Premium | $8 | Plus | $8 | Same price |
| Premium+ | $40 | Premium | $30 | -$10 a month |
| Premium Business | See below | None | n/a | Sold separately |
X says only personal X accounts can connect to The X Subscription. Accounts managed by an organization, including affiliate accounts, cannot.
What does each tier include for X itself?
X Plus gives you a checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads. Premium, Super and Ultra give you the full X Premium+ benefits, which include X Pro and a mostly ad-free timeline.
X’s own mapping puts Premium, Super and Ultra on the same X benefits.
The extra $70 to $170 a month for Super and Ultra buys more Grok and Cursor usage. It does not buy more reach on X. Getting value from that extra usage depends on learning to work with AI.
X Premium: Does Plus qualify you for creator payouts on X?
Plus lets you apply for Original Content Rewards, but it does not pay you by itself.
ClimbX reports that X Help lists Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra as eligible plans (checked October 25, 2026).
Confirm this on X Help before you buy.
X replaced Creator Revenue Sharing with Original Content Rewards. Revenue Sharing ended on September 7, 2026, and applications opened on September 8. To apply, you need:
- An active eligible subscription
- At least 500 verified followers
- At least 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, with replies excluded
- Age 18 or over, in an eligible country
- Regular original content
That impression target equals about 5,556 verified impressions a day. X says meeting every requirement does not guarantee admission. Payouts run every two weeks for approved creators.
Hitting the impression target is easier with a few X growth tools.
Should you switch to The X Subscription?
Switch if you pay $40 for Premium+ or already pay for SuperGrok or Cursor. Stay put if you pay $3 for Basic or $8 for Premium and do not use Grok or Cursor.
| Your situation | Switch? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Premium+ at $40 | Yes | Premium costs $30 and keeps Premium+ benefits |
| Premium+ plus SuperGrok or Cursor | Yes | One $30 plan replaces separate bills |
| Premium at $8, no AI tools | No | Plus costs the same |
| Basic at $3 | No | Plus costs $8 |
| Organization-managed account | No | It cannot connect |
Know these rules first:
- A completed switch is permanent. X says Support cannot undo it.
- Your eligible monthly or annual plans are cancelled, and X sends a prorated refund for unused time.
- The refund arrives separately. Your new plan is charged at full price right away.
- If you bought X Premium through the Apple App Store, X asks Apple for the refund, and Apple decides.
- Cursor bought through the App Store is not cancelled by the switch. Cancel it in your iPhone settings so Apple stops billing you.
How much do you save by paying yearly for X Premium?
Yearly billing saves 16.7% on every paid tier. Premium saves $60 a year, and the old Premium+ saved $85.
| Plan | 12 monthly payments | Annual price | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plus | $96 | $80 | $16 |
| Premium | $360 | $300 | $60 |
| Super | $1,200 | $1,000 | $200 |
| Ultra | $2,400 | $2,000 | $400 |
| Old Premium+ | $480 | $395 | $85 |
Because a switch cannot be undone, test a month before you commit to a year.
What does each X Premium pricing tier cost per unit of usage?
Ultra gives the lowest cost per unit at $4. Plus costs $8 per unit, and Premium costs only 50 cents less.
X lists usage as multiples of Plus. Dividing each monthly price by its multiple gives this:
| Plan | Monthly price | Multiple | Cost per Plus-sized unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plus | $8 | 1x | $8.00 |
| Premium | $30 | 4x | $7.50 |
| Super | $100 | 15x | $6.67 |
| Ultra | $200 | 50x | $4.00 |
The pricing page does not state how many messages or tokens one unit equals. Check X’s usage limits page for current caps.
How much does X Premium Business cost?
Premium Business Basic costs $200 a month, and Full Access costs $1,000 a month. Each extra affiliate on Full Access adds $50 a month in the US.
- Basic: $200 a month or $2,000 a year, with a gold checkmark and priority support.
- Full Access: $1,000 a month or $10,000 a year, with affiliates, impersonation defense and priority handles.
- Benefits: Premium Business accounts and their affiliates receive X Premium+ benefits.
X’s help pages show two different annual prices for Basic, $2,000 and $2,500. Confirm the figure at checkout.
Do prices of X Premium pricing change by country?
Yes. X sets prices for each country, so a local price is not a currency conversion of the US price.
In India, one October 2026 listing shows the old Premium tier at ₹650 a month on the web, against $8 in the US.
App store prices were higher than web prices for the old plans, because of store fees. Check the price at checkout for The X Subscription in your country, since X says availability and price vary by location.
Where do sources disagree?
Some numbers differ between pages. Here are the ones I found and how to handle each.
| Claim | What the sources say | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Super and Ultra reach | Some guides imply more reach. X’s mapping gives the same X benefits as Premium. | Treat them as AI plans |
| Plus and payouts | One guide says Plus alone does not pay you. X Help lists Plus as eligible to apply. | Read both as true. Eligible to apply, not paid automatically |
| Business Basic annual price | $2,000 on most pages, $2,500 on one line | Confirm at checkout |
| Old post length limit | X pages listed both 25,000 and 4,000 characters | Test in the compose box |
